V For Vendetta

The movie V for Vendetta takes place in an alternate vision of Great Britain in the near future 2020. A virus runs wild in the world, killing most Americans and Britain is ruled by a fascist dictator who promises security but not freedom .People were demanded to give up their freedoms for being safe, were controlled and did what they were told. The government turns on people becoming cruel to them. Driven by a personal vendetta, individual William Rookwood played by Hugo Weaving comes to change this creating freedom once again. He wears a mask of Guy Fawkes to cover his face, and changes his name to only V. His plan was to bring back justice and kill doctors that tourtured him in the detention centre. In the procedure of blowing up the first building "The Old Bailey Courtrooms" on November the 5th V rescues a woman called Evey from the secret police, and forces her to join him who becomes his secret ally. He then takes over the TV station broadcasting a message to the whole country disagreeing with the oppressors in Parliament. He invites everyone to join him on Guy Fawkes Night to watch him blow up Parliament. He moves through London like a ghost blowing up important buildings despite the desperate efforts of the police. Thousands of V loyalists who turn't against the corrupt government line up wearing Guy Fwakes masks, to watch the Houses of Parliament being blown up by a train.

I think this film is a very compelling, on the edge of your seat thrilling movie. Throughout there are complications and some spectacular scenes where building are blown up which just adds to the thrill factor. The story line based on Guy Fawkes and V wearing the mask also makes the film much more realistic and makes you think that this could actually happen in the future.The effects of the real buildings in London makes the movie feel more true to life.
